3 Vacations to take NOW

While we are in the middle of winter, our minds travel to warmer destinations, but summertime travel is a long ways away and can be quite expensive. Off-season traveling is one of the most opportune times to travel within the United States and I want to share the 3 places to vacation right now:

Austin, TX
Now through March 5thaustin-texas-mhde-askar-travels-3-vacations-now-blog

Before the indie music lovers come flooding in for SXSW, Austin tourism is at it’s lowest price points for the year. The average weather in Austin in February is in the 70’s, endless skies draw your head to look up and the culture is diverse and vast. Austin is one of those cities where you may travel to for vacation, but you may never return home.

Not For Tourists Austin will get you started on our authentic trip to The Lone Star State.

Miami, FL
Now through April 1st

If you’re looking for a quick Vitamin D fix, head down to Miami, Florida for a quick getaway. If you plan your own vacation through AirBnB, you can be staying in your own luxury apartment for as little as $100 a day + avoid the crowds pre-spring break!

Walk yourself over to the Wynwood Walls and see the likes of famous street artists and their studios. Once your done there, grab an authentic cuban sandwich at Enriqueta’s, a bustling hole-in-the-wall cuban joint with slightly off hours. Finally, have a laugh at Villain Theater, Miami’s finest improv. I highly recommend seeing Tales From The Magic City, which plays every Saturday evening at 8:30PM.

Pro Travel Tip: Fly into Ft. Lauderdale – most airliner hubs like United and JetBlue offer cheaper than expected flights because Ft. Lauderdale is the most centralized airport in Southern Florida.

Louisville, KY
Now Through May 1st

Louisville is an up and coming travel destination for family vacations. Heading to Louisville before The Kentucky Derby is your best bet on getting discounted hotel rooms and rental cars. Louisville has seen a massive upgrade to their infrastructure, with a new walking bridge and canoeing at The Parklands. If you’re looking for more of a low-end hangout, go to Third Street Dive – you are guaranteed to meet some characters and drink beer for a very low price.
